It has been a stormy sea that we have sailed of late.  Powerful forces have been afoot, operating from within and from without, which would seek to destroy all which we have wrought.  The serene loveliness of our most hopeful beginning has been subjected to a terrible fracturing violence, hurling us toward the brink of flaming destruction.
     Please know that I am not some callow fool whose loves crumble before those cannon's wrath.  Though my heart is wretched from the loneliness of this dire captivity, my soul, freed from poison, soars as I forge ahead to vindicate faith and trust.  I bring the ship now full-circle, for you are my dearest blood and, for our grand vision, I could do no less.
     It is, therefore my pleasure to present to you, under the eye of eternity, my solution to the Kobayashi Maru, the battle against insurmountable odds. I ask that you lift up your lamp unto me now and, behold...
